Sixty One marries two Dogfish Head innovations: beer-wine hybrids (like Midas Touch & Noble Rot) & continually hopped IPAs. The name Sixty One is a reminder that this innovative beer is Dogfish Head's award-winning 60 Minute IPA plus ONE new ingredient: Syrah grape must. The idea for Sixty One came when Dogfish founder Sam Calagione would end a night out with friends by pouring a little bit of red wine into their 60 Minute IPAs. He & his friends loved the combination of fruity complexity & pungent hoppiness & the blend became a tradition.
