Harpoon Cider – Pure and Natural

Last fall, the Harpoon Brewery, introduced a hard cider made from a blend of locally grown, freshly pressed apples. Without the addition of preservatives, artificial colors, or sweeteners, Harpoon Cider is fresh, pure and all natural.

Harpoon Cider is made from a blend of locally grown apples including the New England favorite, McIntosh. This blend of varieties is fermented with the brewery’s own yeast, creating an aroma with a clean, fruity character. With an alcohol by volume of 4.1%, this crisp cider is balanced with the ripe apple sweetness and tartness from the fruit’s natural acidity. The color is very light as a result of using only freshly pressed apples.

“As a regional craft brewer, we gained an interest and respect for cider because of its strong roots and history in New England – not to mention that we like to drink cider,” says Rich Doyle, Harpoon CEO and co-founder. “We found that there weren’t many options for a locallyproduced, great-tasting, totally natural cider, so we decided to brew our own.” Doyle encourages drinkers to get creative with their Cider; use it for cooking, pair dishes with it or bring it to a party to toast a special occasion.
