Gary Murdock

Warehouseman

How long have you been with Origlio Beverage? It’s been 13½ years since I started at Origlio, but I have been in this business for more than 36 years.

What positions have you held within the company? I came to Origlio as a DSR. I then moved into the warehouse truck returns division, where I unloaded returning trucks with undelivered product and different types of dunnage. After the undelivered items were removed from the returning trucks, we sorted and organized the returns and placed them into their respective areas in the warehouse. Another core function of that position was reloading off-premise route trucks with their second, and sometimes third, loads of the day. I am currently a warehouseman, but I now work in the receiving division.

What does your current job entail? In my current role, I unload inbound carriers, then I load the respective bulk product storage areas with the received product. In this position, I continue to reload Origlio trucks that are headed outbound with their second, and sometimes third, loads.

What do you like most about your job? Mostly I enjoy the people I work with. We work well together, and we always get the job done.

What does it take to be a top-notch warehouseman at Origlio Beverage? Having 30+ years of industry experience prior to working in Origlio’s warehouse has helped me tremendously.

What do you like to do when you’re not working? I enjoy relaxing on the beach with my family and friends.

If you could be anywhere, drinking any beer, where would you be and what beer would be in your hand? I’d be on the beach in Brigantine, NJ, with an ice-cold Yuengling Lager.
